Opportunities for Medical Students

The Seifert Lab in the Department of Surgery at the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresden Center is seeking highly motivated medical students to work on their doctoral thesis in our basic research lab for 2 semesters. She or he will use immunologic, molecular, and computational techniques to understand immunobiology in gastrointestinal cancers.

Medical students will routinely participate in lab meetings, and conferences to develop the basics of literature review, data analysis, hypothesis generation, grant writing, and oral presentation. Close mentorship from both principle investigators is routine.
