Clinical interests

The clinical interests of Professor Weitz cover the treatment of various conditions and diseases of the digestive tract (esophagus, stomach, small and large bowel, rectum, pancreas, gall bladder and bile duct system, and liver) as well as the management of sarcomas. His expertise is focused on the treatment of tumors (surgical oncology), transplantation surgery and minimal-invasive techniques. He mastered his surgical training at the Dept. of Surgery of the University of Heidelberg and at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Further fields of competence are the surgical management of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and of endocrine disorders.
