The research group "Intervention Research" examines the outcome of psychotherapeutic treatment in the own fields of the Department of Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics at the University Hospital Dresden.  Of particular interest is the identification of variables, that are correlated with therapeutic success or predicting therapeutic dropouts.  At this, factors mediating the quality of a therapeutic alliance are being investigated. Furthermore, the research group examines practicability and acceptance of using smartglasses in exposure therapy of anxiety disorders.

René Noack finished his studies in Psychology in 2005 at the University of Dresden and initially focused on research on substance related disorders, especially cannabis-related disorders, at the Institute of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy. In his doctoral dissertation he described patterns of consumption, which are related to the development of addiction. Currently, he is investigating processes in the course of psychotherapeutic treatment of anxiety disorders in a naturalistic setting: the Dresden Anxiety Day Hospital, which he oversees since 2015. His further research endeavors focus on determining features in the motion behavior of individuals that might be connected with mental disorders.
