Elective Course "Surgical Urology"

Complex topics

  • We offer an insight into clinical and surgical urology. This includes surgical urological oncology, surgical stone therapy, pediatric urology, kidney transplantation and surgical incontinence treatment. The participants are assigned to experienced mentors and take part in the surgical program as assistants on daily basis. The participants also take part in ward rounds n the urological intensive care unit in order to learn about the intensive medical post-operative care of patients who have just undergone surgery

Requirements for proof of performance

  • Requirements according to framework internship regulations
  • Regular participation
  • Passing the oral examination on the 5th day of the internship

Appointments

  • Only after prior registration during the lecture-free period (Annett Weber)
  • Meet mondays 7:30 a.m. in the Student Secretariat, hous 19, 1st floor, room 1.147
  • Participants daily schedule: mondays to thursdays 7:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. participation in the surgical program; fridays 7:45 a.m. to approx. 11:00 a.m. participation in the surgical program, from 11:00 a.m. oral examination by PD Dr. Martin Baunacke
