Research
Welcome to the Research Section of the Institute for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory medicine (IKL) at the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus in Dresden. IKL is also the central clinical laboratory for the hospital and simultaneously a research institute with 9 research groups and 3 core research facilities undertaking basic, translational, and clinical research.
The research mission of IKL is focused on the investigation of the regulation of immunological, hematological, and oncological processes through the interaction between inflammatory, metabolic, hypoxic and (epi)genetic mechanisms.
The Interdisciplinary research done at IKL spans 8 different but interconnected disciplines and fields. Within Immunology, Hematology, Oncology, and Neurology, we focus on the fields of Inflammation, Metabolism, Epigenetics, and Hypoxia. Read more in our Disciplines and Fields section.
