The Department of Urology of the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus is one of the largest university departments of urology in Germany. We treat diseases from the entire spectrum of urology. The main focus of the clinic is the surgical and pharmacological treatment of urological tumor conditions such as prostate cancer, bladder cancer, kidney and adrenal tumors as well as tumors of the testicle and penis. In addition to the radical surgical removal of tumors, we are specialized in ensuring the maximum functional maintenance by the best possible reconstruction of anatomical structures. We also have extensive experience in minimal invasive, robotic-assisted surgeries as well as organ preservation procedures.

The Department of Urology also has many years of experience in the field of kidney transplantation as one of the largest Kidney Transplant Center of Saxony.

Another focus of our Department is the treatment of stones  of the urinary tract. In addition common endoscopic surgeries, we also perform highly complex removals through the urethra in a minimally invasive manner. Several different methods are available to locate, crush and remove stones of the urinarx tract with the least possible effort.

The treatment of incontinence in women and men is another focus of our Department. We use state-of-the-art equipment and methods to clarify the causes of complaints and can treat them either conservatively or surgically.

We also offer specialised consultation hours for men's medicine and pediatric urology, we are in close contact with Child Wish Centres and the pediatric department to offer you the best possible treatment trough our experts.
