Celebrating 30 years of SCIC – and 15 years of Neurocognition research at the SCIC
At the recent celebration of the Saxon Cochlear Implant Center’s 30th anniversary – held under the motto “Hearing together – Celebrating together” – we had the pleasure of joining the SCIC team for a very special occasion.
For our ERCD Neurocognition research group, the event also marked 15 years of collaborative science and patient-centered research at the SCIC.
We presented our latest findings on speech understanding with cochlear implants, including insights from longitudinal studies with children using CIs. Engaging in discussion with patients and families, many of whom had actually taken part in our studies, made the day particularly meaningful.
The open exchange, warm atmosphere, and shared curiosity made it clear: this is what translational science is all about.
A big thank you to the SCIC team for their outstanding partnership – we look forward to many more years of joint efforts to advance hearing research and care.
