Hintergrund
Kriegstraumatisierte Flüchtlinge aus Ex-Jugoslawien nehmen verschiedene Hilfsangebote wahr, die zum einen im regulären Versorgungssystem angesiedelt sind, wie z.B. Allgemeinärzte, Psychiater und Psychologen, zum anderen gemeindeintegrierte Hilfen, wie Selbsthilfegruppen, Beratungen, Sprachkurse usw. Es wurde in der Literatur beschrieben, dass letztgenannte Unterstützung scheinbar einen größeren Einfluss auf die Milderung von posttraumatischem Stress hat, als Angebote des Gesundheitssystems. Empirische Untersuchungen zu dieser Frage gibt es nur vereinzelt. Zudem wird nach Prädiktoren für Veränderungen im Verlauf chronifizierter posttraumatischer Belastungsreaktionen gefragt.

Ziele
Die Studie soll Angebote des Gesundheitswesens und gemeinnütziger Institutionen für traumatisierte Personen aus dem ehemaligen Jugoslawien kartieren und deren Nutzung durch diese Flüchtlinge erheben. Weiterhin wird nach den Kosten der Interventionen sowie ihrer Effektivität gefragt.

Methode
Es werden mindestens 250 Teilnehmer aus der betreffenden Flüchtlingspopulation rekrutiert und zu ihrem Inanspruchnahmeverhalten, Veränderungen von Lebensqualität und ggf. psychischen Symptomen befragt. Aus dieser Gruppe werden 90 Personen mit anhaltenden Symptomen posttraumatischen Stresses nach einem Jahr erneut um ein Gespräch gebeten und erneut befragt.
