PROCESSES OF AGEING
This SAN facilitates an exchange of interdisciplinary perspectives on the various “Processes of Ageing.” Ageing has always been a matter of concern for humanity. It involves not only biological, but also social and cultural processes, which accompany our lives from the cradle to the grave. In addition to fundamental biomedical research, aspects of lifestyle and nutrition that can affect ageing are also being examined. Rising life expectancy also requires us to reconsider living environments and the role of the elderly in society. Issues from the fields of art history and cultural studies provide insights into the perception of ageing in different eras and regions of the world.
The Kick-off events takes place on 29th October 2019 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm followed by an opportunity to network at Saxon State and University Library Dresden (SLUB), Klemperer Hall, Zellescher Weg 18, 1st Floor.
Scientists are provided with the freedom and the stage to present their research questions and approaches on alternating, overarching research topics through short lectures (5 mins, 5 slides) which are followed by thought-provoking discussions with interested scientists.
