Emergency room

For the emergency treatment there are six modern equipped treatment places that can be centrally overlooked. For the treatment of severely sick people there are all possibilities of diagnostics and treatment. All the medical disciplines can be called in for a consult.
The main focus is the emergency care of patients that are taken in by the emergency medical services or patients that are transferred from other hospitals. Rarely patients present themselves with symptoms if the family care doctor or another out patient service cannot be contacted.
Patients that do not need in patient treatment can be seen by the “Kassenärztliche Bereitschaftsdienst”, a service that replaces family doctors on weekends or holidays, which is also located on the campus of the university hospital.
