Research
In the Clinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy of the Medical Faculty at the TU Dresden, research is mainly conducted on the following disorders, for which there is also excellent clinical expertise
- Tic Disorders/Tourette's Syndrome
- Obsessive-compulsive disorders
- Attention deficit (hyperactivity) disorder
- Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Eating disorders
- Schizophrenia
For all topics we follow a broad, multi-methodical approach with the aim of a better understanding of the processes "from gene to behavior". In doing so, we pursue the idea of translational research in order to transfer research results into improvements in diagnostics and therapy as quickly as possible.
Close cooperation with numerous researchers in Dresden as well as in Germany and abroad enables us to engage in productive scientific and personal exchange.
We can only pursue this broad, multi-method approach because of our cooperation partners, for which we would like to take this opportunity to thank them.
In our research the following METHODS are used:
- Genetics
- Epigenetics
- Psychopathology and Phenomenology
- Neuropsychology
- Neurophysiology (EEG, ERP, TMS)
- Neurochemistry (CNS metabolites, endocrinology, neuroimmunology)
- Structural and functional imaging (MRT, fMRI, DTI)
