Research Associate/ NMR-Specialist  (f/m/x)

The Institute for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine is an accredited University Clinic Central Diagnostic Laboratory, performing more than 5 million analyses per year for the University Clinic Carl-Gustav-Carus. The institute's profile also includes strong, internationally visible research with a focus on metabolism, immunology/inflammation, oncology and neurochemistry. The research of the institute is closely integrated in the research focus of the Medical Faculty of the University Dresden and the Biopolis Dresden. The University Dresden (Technische Universität Dresden) is one of the 11 German Universities that were awarded Status of Excellence in 2012.

A full-time position as

Research Associate/ NMR-Specialist (f/m/x)

is available as soon as possible (initially for 24 months).

Your duties:

  • Responsibility for the NMR spectroscopy laboratory of the institute
  • Development, validation and application of NMR spectroscopy methods (including data analysis and interpretation) in clinical diagnostics and translational research
  • Critical evaluation, documentation and presentation of analysis results
  • Technical support of the equipment (incl. maintenance and troubleshooting)
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in the area of responsibility (e.g. quality management system safety, health and environmental protection)
  • Close cooperation with other institutions and platforms (e.g. campus-wide liquid biobank)
  • Active participation and support in solving analytical problems
  • Participation in student teaching (Medical studies)
  • Independent execution of research tasks (especially in the field of clinical translational, immunometabolic and oncological research)

Your profile:

  • University degree (Chemistry, Physics, Master of Science or equivalent)
  • Completed experimental doctorate, preferably in the field of NMR spectroscopy
  • Proven knowledge in the establishment and operation of NMR spectroscopic methods in biological samples and the analysis, interpretation and statistical evaluation of NMR data
  • Practical experience with NMR hardware and software is an advantage
  • Communication skills and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary manner
