Postdoctoral research fellow (f/m/x)

The Clinic for Internal Medicine 3, Division of Nephrology, Linkermann Laboratory, focuses on clinically relevant cell death mechanisms and therapy with a focus on nephrological diseases and solid organ transplantation.
In state-of-the-art life science research, we focus on the therapeutic potential of inhibition of regulated necrosis, such as necroptosis, pyroptosis and ferroptosis, and the molecular and biochemical nature of these pathways. We are investigating clinically relevant necrosis to interfere with diseases such as acute kidney injury (AKI), heart attacks and strokes, and to improve the acceptance of transplanted organs.

To support our efforts on molecular biology, we are currently looking for an experienced and exceptionally motivated

Postdoctoral research fellow (f/m/x)

We initially offer a 24 months contract with optional extension upon successful integration into the research team.

The candidate enjoys access to technical platforms, core facilities and preclinical animal work. The laboratories are located at the University Campus of the Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresden (BIOTEC and the Medizinisch-Theoretisches Zentrum (MTZ). Collaborations with excellent basic research institutions, such as the Centre for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD), selected research labs in the Medical Faculty and groups at the Max-Planck Institute for Cell Biology and Genetics have been established and provide a research environment that allows for internationally competitive projects. With a clear career promoting environment within our team, we offer reliable long term future perspectives and an internationally respected research network to unfold in as well as flexible working hours as a means to guarantee an appropriate work-life-balance.

The ideal candidate is driven by natural interest in mechanisms of cell biology and the ambition to translate findings in molecular biology into clinically relevant translational strategies. We expect solid wet lab experience (cell culture work, western blotting, FACS, cloning). Additionally, expertise in protein biochemistry and molecular medicine is welcome.
