prospectively starting asap. The position is initially limited to 24 months with the option for an extension.

The position is offered to support ambitious and interdisciplinary projects focusing on the molecular cell biology of mammalian neural stem cells. The successful applicant is expected to have an advanced expertise in molecular and cellular biology and, ideally, have experience in handling and managing mouse colonies. Among others, the primary talks will include not only the coordination and management of lab supplies, instrumentation, safety forms and S1/S2 documentation but also the direct involvement in the execution of experiments and support in the development of research projects. Good knowledge of German is an advantage but working language in the lab is English.

The position provides ample opportunity to interact with other researchers in basic and regenerative medicine, developmental cell biology, systems biology and biotechnology at the CRTD and its many neighbouring institutes on the Dresden campus including the, CMCB, MPI-CBG, CSBD, and others that are supported by high end, shared facilities ranging from advanced imaging to genome engineering and others. Working language within the campus is English. Your Profile:

  • successfully completed training as a biological laboratory technician or equivalent education (MTA/BTA/CTA)
  • experience with cell biological techniques under S1 and S2 conditions in vitro and/or in vivo
  • mastery of (molecular biological and histological) standard methods like RNA and DNA isolation, PCRs and quantitative PCR, Western blot, cloning, immunohistochemical staining
  • experience with the laboratory mice proven by a FELASA certificate
  • experience with in vivo imaging techniques would be desirable
  • ideally experience with cell culture (cell lines, primary cultures)
  • reliability, flexibility, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, organizational skills to plan experimental bench-work and the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently when required
  • very good knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken (working in an internationally oriented working environment)
