Project 1

Chromaffin progenitor cells in adrenal tissue and tumour formation

This project will provide evidence for the role of neural crest derived adult stem cells in the adrenal medulla in the plasticity of the adrenal gland for adaptation to increased physiological needs, as well as for the contribution of these cells to adrenal tumourigenesis. The general aim is to uncover the mechanism of stem cell activation in the context of adaptation to stress and tumourigenesis.
